Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The Childcare Assistant will work closely with lead teachers to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for young children, assisting with daily activities, promoting developmental milestones, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and intellectual development in young children.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and other activities to ensure safety and well-being.
- Help create a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages learning, creativity, and social interaction.
- Support children in developing social skills, including sharing, teamwork, and communication.
- Assist with preparing and organizing materials for educational activities and classroom events.
- Communicate with parents and caregivers about children’s progress and any concerns.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas.
- Adhere to all childcare and education policies, including safety protocols and hygiene standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Child Development Associate (CDA) certification or similar qualification preferred).
- Experience working with young children in a daycare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
